My Conscience Your Conscience
Starting with an interest in the scheming of Spiro Agnew and other conservatives in his day I’ve become more and more enthralled in how they influence the voting public’s views on political questions and how they have evolved over the past sixty years.
Over that time I’ve become fed up with the Democrats and Republicans and the shallowness and nonsense of the platforms they basically trot-out every four years. As if anybody really cares sense most voters the platforms are more for show than for substance.
I’ve come to the conclusion that I should support candidates willing to challenge political party structures, or else support third party platforms and candidates. We need to take our life experiences into account as well as our views of ethical and moral issues in determining who we vote for. Which of course is a totally foreign and unacceptable concept for the Conservative Coalition.
In time I began to see that politicians, by and large, didn’t represent how I felt about the issues, nor did I feel like they were being honest and their actions were far to often at variance from their words, that is, deceitful.
Most politicians I’ve listened to have left me empty emotionally and troubled with the constant double-speak they are so good at. I feel they are completely disconnected from my reality.
So I’ve stopped taking for granted what politicians promise and instead focus on what they actually deliver. It’s the results that are of importance and since talk is cheap and promises are generally made to fool the public, I now hold each politician accountable for their actions and not for their song and dance performances.
You see, My Take is that politics exists mainly to divide people into one camp or another; to do everything possible to confuse voters in order to fool them and keep them off balance. By being successful the Cadre and Oligarchs understand they will have an easier time in reaching their goal to take control of our country and to dictate to its citizens what their life styles will be like.
I personally guarantee no one, including the gullible Rank-and-File, are going to be too pleased with the brutal way we will be herded like sheep, with ICE and the Border Patrol to assure our obedience.
Disconnects
However, it’s not so much what political parties are about but about the politicians who claim they are the best one to represent the voters and their values. When I listen closely to what is being said by various candidates I too often find the message seldom matches the rhetoric.
One example comes from candidates looking to garner the Christian vote, they invoke statements like they believe in Christ’s love for people but then turn around and make inflammatory statements that don’t align with what a loving Christ preached.
Aside Secretary Hogseth
The Conservative Agenda is not about personal freedom but more about extremism of the far right-wing in blocking important issue I believe in. Instead they are more interested in pushing extremist ideas.
Many people rely on their gut level feelings or preconceived prejudices as opposed to factual information to make political decisions. This is especially the case for the Rank-and-File members of the Conservative Coalition who rely on the Cadre to inform them on what to believe and what to disregard. Of course the Cadre isn’t about to be honest with them but rather to tell them what is best of the Conservative Agenda’s dominance over the United States and its people.
How is it, I repeatedly ask myself, that the Coalition of right-wing voters keep supporting and even lauding criminals, like ICE, and the lunatic extremists, like the Conspiracy Theorists?
How is it that Republicans are so steadfast against human dignity. And that Republican members of Congress are so adamantly oppose basic human dignity is to me reprehensible? Expand
What We As Voters Need To Do
Speak out, work with other anti-Coalition people and groups whenever possible. Continue to push back against the forces of evil that the Coalition embraces, forces that thrive on dividing the country into bitter enemies.
We can’t allow them to decide how we live and what we do.
Take into count those who have different but equally acceptable views from our own.
Have you noticed that Progressives, the left-wing, are supported by more compelling data and logical arguments than the Conservative Coalition who rely on emotions rather then rational reasoning?
Why do the Democrats continue to support the terrorist nation of Israel in its war of extermination of the Gaza Strip? The Democrats, as well as Trump and his administration, must be held accountable for support of such human rights violators.
In the same vein we must challenge the current administration’s out of control meddling in the affairs of sovereign nations like Venezuela and declaring unconstitutional war against other countries as they are now doing with Iran.
The above is my conscience’s position on political parties and politicians. Think about what I’ve said and take a minute to see how much or how little you agree with me. I do not claim to be absolutely right like the right-wing pundits do. I prefer open and honest dialog with people who can thin for themselves as well as are their thoughts with other people.
Aside Secretary Hogseth
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth railed against what he called the “Godless left” and praised “Western Christian” values and traditions in a speech at a Christian communicators conference in Tennessee.
“Under the leadership of President Trump, the military once again supports and trains our troops and tends to their spiritual health. You see, we train our troops, we no longer trans our troops.” One of the first efforts undertaken by the Trump administration after taking office last January was to ban transgender people from joining the military, and remove transgender people who were currently serving in uniform.
“Gone is Godless and divisive DEI, gone is gender-bending equity and quotas, gone is climate change worship to a false God. We are one military, one fighting force, one nation under God. We are not in woke we trust, we are in God we trust,” he said.
Hegseth spoke to applause from the crowd at the National Religious Broadcasters 2026 International Christian Media Convention in Nashville.
What he really said is nothing more than the same old rubbish that those in the Conservative Coalition have been vilifying those of us who are of the left-wing side of the socio-political battle we are now in a life and death struggle against the true forces of evil: the right-wing hypocrites, liars, and criminals.
God, I’m so tired of the religious right and their hypocritical statements, constantly falling back on stupidity and disparagement as some form of legitimate censure.
“we no longer trans our troops.” A question: did I miss something or maybe it’s a misprint? Is trans our troops some secret code or other sign to the Idiots of the Coalition, or is it a reference to transgender? It certainly has me puzzled. But then maybe it is just some typographical mistake, a lot like Hogseth is a mistake as Secretary off Defense. He should take his two Bronze Star medals and do with them what would the best for the country. If you were ever in the military I’m sure you know what I mean by “do ties them” means.
